Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. They help make our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies,” which are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

You can configure your browser to notify you when cookies are set, allow them only in individual cases, block them entirely, or automatically delete them when closing your browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Cookies required for electronic communications or to provide certain functions you request are stored based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing these cookies to provide its services without technical issues and in an optimized manner. Any other cookies (e.g. for analytics) are explained separately in this privacy policy.

  • Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA

You can recognize these plug-ins by the respective social network’s logo. These plug-ins establish a connection between your browser and the social network's servers. This allows the networks to receive information such as your IP address and browser identifier. For more information on data collection and usage, see Facebook’s privacy policy.

Processing of customer and contract data

We collect, process, and use personal data only to the extent necessary for the establishment, content, or modification of the legal relationship (inventory data), based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We also collect, process, and use personal data about the use of our internet services (usage data) only as required to enable or bill the user. Customer data is deleted once the contract is fulfilled or the business relationship ends, unless legal retention periods apply.

Data transfer during contract fulfillment (online shop and services)

Personal data is only transferred to third parties when necessary to fulfill the contract, for example to the shipping company or the payment service provider. No further transmission occurs unless you have explicitly agreed. We will not share your data for advertising purposes without your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

5. Data Disclosure

6. Analytics Tools and Advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The use of Google Analytics cookies is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize both its website and advertising.

Browser plugin

You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings. However, please note that in doing so, you may not be able to use all functions of this website fully. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

Opt-out of data collection

You can prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics by setting an opt-out cookie. More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy.

Data processing agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic features in Google Analytics

This website uses the “demographic features” function of Google Analytics. It allows reports to be generated containing statements about the age, gender, and interests of site visitors. These data originate from interest-based advertising by Google and visitor data from third-party providers and cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this feature in your Google account’s ad settings or prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics as explained above.

Plug-ins and Tools: YouTube

Our website uses plug-ins from the YouTube site operated by Google. The provider is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with a YouTube plug-in, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

The use of YouTube is in the interest of providing an appealing presentation of our online content. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Further information on the handling of user data can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy.

Payment Providers

On our website, we offer payment via Visa/Mastercard, Sofortüberweisung, PayPal, and SEPA direct debit. The provider of these payment services is PAYONE GmbH, Lyoner Straße 9, 60528 Frankfurt/Main. When selecting one of these payment methods, you will be redirected to PAYONE GmbH. Zoo Duisburg does not collect any data related to the payment transaction in its online shop.
